what ‘DESERT SISTERS PILGRIMAGE’ is about
A Rite of Passage
There are moments in life when something within us knows it is time.
Time to step away from the familiar.
Time to listen differently.
Time to cross a threshold we cannot yet fully name.
This is not a retreat.
It is a pilgrimage.
The Call
This journey is for women who feel the quiet (or undeniable) pull toward something deeper—
a remembering, a shedding, a becoming.
A remembering not only of self,
but of those who came before.
Healing through the mother lineage that lives within your body—
in your blood, your bones, your breath.
Some will come with clear intention.
Others will arrive with only a feeling.
Both are welcome.
Because the call to pilgrimage does not begin with logic.
It begins somewhere older.
Who This Is For…
This pilgrimage is for women, daughters, mothers, grandmothers, who feel called—
even if they cannot fully explain why.
Those who are meant to be here will feel it.
And while the mind may offer reasons to delay or doubt,
the deeper knowing tends to persist.
This is not about self-improvement.
It is not about becoming someone else.
It is about remembering who you are beneath the noise,
and having that truth witnessed.
For some, this may feel like a whole new beginning.
For others, a return.
The Three Pillars
Desert — Rewilding & Liberation
The desert is not empty. It is vast, alive, and uncompromisingly honest.
It strips away distraction and invites you into direct relationship—with land, with silence, with yourself.
Here, there is space to loosen what has been held too tightly…
and to remember what has always been true.
Sisters — Kinship & Relational Connection
You will not walk this path alone.
Within a circle of women, something ancient reawakens—
the echo of shared lineage, of daughters and mothers,
of stories carried across generations.
The waking of her daughters lives here.
Each woman arrives with her own story.
Together, a field of trust and truth is created.
This is not about fixing or advising.
It is about presence, reflection, and deep remembering through relationship.
Pilgrimage — Devotion & Threshold-Crossing
A pilgrimage asks something of you.
It is not passive. It is walked, felt, and lived.
Through intentional movement across land and inner terrain,
you step out of ordinary time and into a liminal space—
where identities soften, questions deepen, and transformation becomes possible.
This 7- day rite of passage follows an ancient arc:
Separation
You step away from the known—
daily roles, responsibilities, and familiar environments.
There is a conscious leaving behind.
Transition (through the Liminal)
In the desert, the in-between begins.
Here, you may meet uncertainty, clarity, resistance, openness—
often all at once.
As you move through this passage, something older begins to stir—
the wisdom of cycles, the quiet pulse of lineage moving through you.
Transformation
Challenge and insight arise naturally in this space.
You are invited to meet yourself honestly—
to release what no longer fits and to claim what is emerging.
To feel the spiral of your own becoming—
not linear, but cyclical, alive.
The mother blood that gives you life
becomes not just history,
but presence.
Honouring & Integration
Our week will culminate in a powerful witnessing ceremony held in relationship with
the Desert.
Here, each woman is seen and honoured—
by the circle, by the land, and by something far more ancient than words can fully hold.
You do not simply finish the pilgrimage.
You are received on the other side of it.
Your GuideS and hosts on country…
Leading with love, guided by nature — Eugenia's mantra is lived fully, in every dimension of her practice and her life.
Eugenia Yallamas has been facilitating transformational experiences for over ten years. She is passionate about Energy, Elemental and Earth Medicine, and our relational connection to all things — helping others open to their own heart awakening and experience life through deep interconnectedness.
She is an Acupuncturist, Herbalist, Quantum Health & Life Coach, Certified Gene Keys Guide, Qi Gong teacher, Shamanic/Energy Medicine and Regenerative Practitioner, and Rites of Passage Facilitator. Eugenia has been in service to many people as they move through wellbeing challenges, traverse turbulent life phases, honour important rites of passage, and open to their intuitive knowing and ancestral connections.
By being in a receptive state and allowing the flow of experience to move through us, we create magical experiences through group consciousness and Earth connection.
The retreats Eugenia facilitates bring deep connection for all participants. The bonds formed within the group are powerful, transformative, and deeply loving.
From the early passing of her mother to learning at the feet of Elders on Country — Robyn's life has been a journey of recovering her female lineage, creating sisterhood, and developing self-sovereignty.
Robyn Katz was one of Australia's pioneers in business and life coaching before co-founding Talkpoint, Australia's first peer learning community for senior HR leaders. Talkpoint Women is an inspired fusion of Robyn's commercial life, heart-led personal story, and view that our world needs re-balancing.
As a space maker, facilitator, and sophisticated holder of group energy, her primary role is to allow the collective wisdom of gathered women to emerge.
'We are each other's teachers.’
Robyn's adult development has been grounded in three significant bodies of work — each one a thread woven into the philosophy of the collective. Margaret Wheatley's Warriors for the Human Spirit training; The Thinking Environment facilitation system and Theory U, a deep change presence-ing process.
Philosophy
- The magic and power of women learning from women together
- The necessity for intergenerational and cross-system wisdom
- Embodiment and presence as foundational to trustworthy leadership
- Community as the primary context for growth and perseverance
Thirty years of embodied practice — rooted in theatre, improvisation, and the living intelligence of the body.
Johanna De Ruyter is a dynamic and seasoned facilitator, coach, and communicator. She specialises in integrating theatre, improvisation, embodiment, leadership, and relational intelligence to create transformative, participant-centred learning experiences.
For more than 15 years, Johanna has facilitated leadership presence and communication programs across Asia Pacific, India, the Middle East, and the United States — guiding diverse groups to cultivate inclusive leadership, emotional intelligence, and authentic impact.
As an ICF accredited coach, she brings a warm, insightful, and somatically attuned presence, supporting individuals to deepen self-awareness and relational awareness while fostering trust and psychological safety.
She holds space with clarity, vitality, and deep respect for the relational field she co-creates with each group.
Informed by systems thinking, Johanna is a Warm Data Lab Host with the Bateson Institute and a modern elder with the Wicked Elephants Co-operative — facilitating dialogic spaces where communities navigate complex problems with curiosity and collaboration.
Lucia is a Central Australia–based facilitator, creative producer, and local partner who has lived and worked on Arrernte Country for nearly a decade. Her work is informed by reconciliation in action, fostering respectful relationships between people, place, and culture. She has developed long-standing relationships with different communities and is developing projects that support the next generation and enable families to return to and spend time on Country. Through women’s facilitation and Connection to Country experiences, she supports meaningful, reciprocal and locally grounded journeys.
Indigenous Elders, Christine and Seide are sisters on Werre Therre country, North West of Alice Springs. They will be our hosts on country as we explore deep listening and indigenous ways of being and connecting.
Lucia works alongside Christine Davis, an Elder and Traditional owner of Werre Therre, whose purpose is deeply centred around encouraging women to return to Country, strengthening cultural connection, and empowering the next generation to step into leadership within her community. Through creating spaces for women to gather, learn, listen and remember, this work supports the regeneration of culture through sharing of story by being out on country.
It is about walking alongside women as they reclaim confidence, cultural responsibility, and belonging — ensuring that knowledge, stories, and connection continue to be carried forward for future generations.
